How does unsubscription email flow work in NotifyVisitors

Email marketing is the most primitive and influential method to engage users and it gives you effective results in terms of enhancing your brand value and higher conversion rates. But if you are sending your subscribers’ unnecessary mails that too in bulk, there are lesser chances for their conversions. Also, they would be prompted to unsubscribe. In such a scenario, it becomes inevitable to give them the option to unsubscribe from those emails which they do not prefer to receive. It will result in effective user engagement and gives your subscribers the freedom to choose what they are interested in. This way your email marketing strategies would also work.

 Read this article to know how you can create unsubscription categories and how the unsubscriber flow works in NotifyVisitors.


NotifyVisitors allows you to create subscription categories to enable users to choose only those emails which they want to receive in the future or to which they want to subscribe to.

Follow the below steps to create subscription categories :

  • Navigate to the Analytics > Settings > Subscription groups.

  • Click on “ Create new category” to create a category for the email. Give it a title and description as shown below.


Earlier you could only show a default or custom template to the subscribers. Now you can use the unsubscribe template and create content as per your requirements.

  • Navigate to the NotifyVisitors dashboard> Analytics > Settings> Unsubscribe template.

You can customize the content for the confirmation screen and thank you screen via the HTML editor. View below how you can do that :

A. Confirmation screen: You can change the content from the editor when you ask the users about their unsubscription preferences (whether they want to unsubscribe from all the categories or anyone amongst them) and their confirmation about it. 

You can customize the content, add an image or logo by clicking on the CONFIRMATION SCREEN. 

B.Thankyou screen: Earlier you can only show the default content on the THANKYOU SCREEN, but now you can customize the content for the thankyou screen, once the subscriber has opted their preferences. Also, you can display the survey to the subscribers to know the in-depth reasons about why they unsubscribed. 

You can select the survey from the drop-down menu as given below :


NotifyVisitors enables you to insert UNSUBSCRIBE TOKEN in the mail, which you are going to send to the subscribers. This functionality gives them the freedom to receive emails of their choice, for example, if your subscribers want to receive only newsletters and blogs and do not want to get disturbed by any other mails. They can simply click on the unsubscribe button and select the categories for receiving mails.

Follow the below steps to insert unsubscribe tokens in NotifyVisitors :

  • Navigate to the EMAIL & SMS > Campaigns to create an email campaign.

  • Next, click on the EDIT section of any Email campaign.

  • Now create a new email campaign, fill in the basic details and define the targeting rules.

  • While creating the email template, you can insert the UNSUBSCRIBE token in the mail which you can view while clicking right on the insert token option. See the below image for reference.

Now click on the Next button and schedule your mail for a specific time and date or click on send it now.

Follow the above steps to allow users to choose their email preferences and subscribe to only those emails which they want to receive.
